The Nissan Versa Sedan was released three years back and currently, the second generation version of the car is making the rounds. This is certainly one of the best entry- level cars available in the market, especially in terms of the money value provided by the car. The car comes with a really sophisticated exterior and has a well-designed interior as well. The car offers a lot more legroom than a lot of other entry- level sedans, which makes this car slightly more comfortable as well.

The 2014 Nissan Versa Sedan is going to be built on the “V” platform, Nissan’s global platform that includes front- wheel drive. The car weights 150 pounds lesser than the earlier generation ones. The engine comes with a dual fuel injector system which helps inject more fuel with lesser power. This can help achieve complete combustion with ease, which in turn would improve the fuel efficiency of the car. The engine of the sedan also uses a continuously variable timing control system (CVTC) that is mounted on both the exhaust and the intake ports. This is different because the CVTC system is usually just mounted on the intake port. The engine makes the most efficient use of the fuel and it is capable of delivering 109 hp of power. The engine can also generate 107 lb per ft of torque.

The car makes use of Xtronic CVT transmission, the next generation transmission option. It uses an auxiliary gearbox that make the gear shifting flawless and really smooth. The transmission ratio of the car is 7:3:1 which is amazing for a car in its range. Actually, this transmission ratio is better than the one typically found in 7 speed automatic transmission gearboxes. As mentioned, the fuel efficiency of the car is quite amazing. The car can provide 31 mpg within the city limits and 40 mpg on the highway. The 5 speed manual transmission gearbox engine can provide 27 mpg within the city limits and 36 on the highway. The 4 speed automatic transmission engine is capable of providing a mileage of 26 mpg within the city and 35 on the highway.

The 2014 second edition of the Versa Sedan will come in four models- S (available in 4 speed automatic and 5 speed manual gearbox), S Plus CVT, SV CVT and SL SVT. The Versa is also available in a hatchback version. The car is one of the best around because of the value for money it provides the customer. The car comes with a wide range of features, besides the engine features mentioned above. Some of these features include air conditioning, Xtronic CVT transmission, adjustable driver seats (with 16 adjustment options), aux- in audio availability, AM/FM/ CD integrated music system, big boot space, etc.

The price of the car varies according to the model (depending on the engine and transmission each model comes in). The prices of the models are given below:

Versa Sedan S 5MT: $11,990

Versa Sedan S4AT: $12,990

Versa Sedan S Plus CVT: $13,790

Versa Sedan SV CVT: $15,240

Versa Sedan SL CVT: $16,890

One should also add around $800 for destination and handling purposes.

There have been a lot of enhancements in this version of the car. Some of the enhancements include tri- cot headliner, aluminium alloy wheels, Sirius XM Satellite Radio availability (once subscription has been activated), 4.3 inch display audio system, key fob trunk release, tachometer, low rolling resistance tires, suspension and steering tuning, interior finishers, etc. The higher end models also get a high- gloss B- pillar treatment, along with enhanced seating comfort (seats come with greater foam density and bottom cushion as well). One could opt for more convenience features, if they require anything else.
