Volvo is a prestigious Swedish automobile maker and they have officially unveiled the production version of their car, the Polestar. This car is going to be the performance version of the S60 sedan already released by Volvo. The S60 Polestar is going to come with a six cylinder T6 3.0 liter engine that is capable of delivering around 350 hp of power at 5700 rpm. It can also deliver a maximum power of 500 Nm between 2800- 4750 rpm.

The car is quite powerful and the engine of the car comes mated with a six speed automatic transmission gearbox. The transmission comes with launch control as well as a Haldex four wheel drive system that will make the car extremely responsive and quite stable to drive, under any conditions. In order to achieve the right performance, Volvo tweaked the T6 Volvo engine a little bit, so that it would boost the performance of the Polestar a little more. They also took care of the software of the unit and they have installed a new intercooler in the car. The car also boasts of a new exhaust system and a Borg Warner tube. There are front/ rear stabilizers in the car, along with spring and strut braces, rear tie blades, carbon fiber reinforced braces etc. The car can go from 0-100 in just 4.9 seconds, that is how good the engine is.

The Polestar has the classic Volvo sedan looks and it is currently going for sale only in Australia. The car is expected to start being delivered by late June. This car is not just meant to be a track day car. According to Volvo, this car has been designed to be a car that can be driven under any conditions and on any road. The car is designed in a way similar to that of the BMW Alpina, which can be considered as the main competition for the car. It is well known that Volvo has invested a lot towards research and development in the making of this car- especially in developing the engine and the suspension. There is no doubt that this car will capture the Australian market in no time at all.
