The Bentley Continental GT3 Racecar made its first public appearance in the 2013 Good Wood Festival of Speed. The most notable change it has undergone over its predecessor is that it has shed nearly 1000 kilograms of weight. The new car is more aerodynamic. The engine specifications have been tweaked to enhance the power generated by it as well.

The car is motivated by a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 engine. The engine is capable of generating power to the tune of 600 bhp. That’s a new for this line of cars. The engine is mated to a Xtrac six speed sequential gearbox with a limited slip differential. It is monitored by the Cosworth Engine Management System.

The suspension system is the state of the art double wishbone suspension system. It is fitted with four way adjustable racing dampers and comes as a replacement for the standard road car air springs. The steering system features the top of the line hydraulic power assistance. The braking system comprises of ventilated iron discs that work in conjunction with six piston calipers on the front and four piston calipers on the rear.

The drag coefficient has been minimized by virtue of its aerodynamic design. A top mounted carbon fibre rear wing adds further rear downforce and stability. There is a carbon fibre splitter that balances the aerodynamic forces. The bonnet, fenders, bumpers and sills have been redesigned so as to reduce the car’s drag coefficient further. They also help in the process of engine cooling.

The weight of the car has been reduced by eliminating the leather and wood interior trim and the production electrical systems such that the car weighs below 1300 kg. This car has been hand crafted by the Bentley engineers and is a pride to own and ride.
