BMW introduced state of the art technology and innovation with their Series 5 cars. So much of thought and precision went into it that barely few changes will be required in its revised editions to appeal to the customers. To market a new model, certain changes have been incorporated. They are not path breaking and are subtle to say the least. But they do guarantee a fresh appeal for the already successful car.

The car derives power from the standard inline 4 240 horsepower engine. Another more powerful option exists too. It is the 4.4 liter V8 engine that generates 400 horsepower. It is capable of attaining an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. It can reach top speeds of 155 miles per hour. The engine is mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission gearbox that includes premium features like Optimum Shift Indicators, Auto Start-Stop functionality and Brake Energy Regeneration.

The exterior design remains almost the same. The kidney shaped grille is emphasized further by the more prominent contour lines. The air intakes have been revised slightly. Xenon headlights have been fitted as standard options. The buyer can for adaptive LEDs at an extra price. The side mirrors have got new indicator lights. The rear apron comes with an additional crease. The most notable of all exterior design changes is the one noticed in the tail lights. It originates in the rear fender and goes half way through the trunk.

No significant changes have been made in the interiors of the car. As mentioned earlier, the original models are pillars of engineering innovation. Little could be done to outshine them. However slight changes were noticed. A chrome lining accentuates the elegance of the car further. There is more storage space in the console and cup holders too.
