The 12C has already impressed the critics. This new update intends to take it one step higher by optimizing the performance parameters of the car. It has been developed by the likes of McLaren GT, the wing of McLaren that takes care of its racing car segment. The car does not include any path breaking change over the original 12C model. The original was too good to be improvised upon.

The car has been made with the lightweight carbon fibre MonoCell chassis. The technology is assisted by upgrades such as that of ProActive Chassis Control, (PCC) to enhance its performance. To improve the handling of this car, features like that of Brake Steer and the McLaren Airbrake have been added. The new edition thus retains the best of the 12C model which includes the balance and precise characteristics of the car while bringing to the table a more track focused GT racing experience.

The power comes from the optimised 3.8-litre twin turbo engine that includes a unique oil system. It is mated to a seven speed twin clutch transmission gearbox. It is capable of generating 625 PS of power.

As far as the exteriors are concerned, the 12C GT Sprint uses optimized aerodynamic and cooling features. The front bumper has been redesigned to carry a more aggressive look. The bonnet is one inspired by the GT3. The radiator exit ducts and front wing louvres add to the appeal of the car.

The driving position has been lowered but retains the comfort factor. A lightweight AC has been incorporated in the car to add to its comfort quotient. The car will make its first public appearance at the Good Wood Festival of Speed. The pricing is expected to start from GBP £ 200000, exclusive of taxes. 20 cars will be rolled out initially.
