The new version of the Chevrolet Equinox is slated to arrive in the middle of 2015. The Motor Trend reported that there will be new details added to the design of this car. There are going to be serious redesigning of the total lines of the car. The crossover is likely to go on a serious diet and end up becoming much lighter than the current model. This in turn will increase the fuel efficiency of the car.

Though no official confirmation has yet been given regarding the size of the engine, it is speculated that the entry level model will be equipped with 2.5 liters four cylinder engine producing a maximum power of 196 bhp (145 kW). It is capable of a maximum torque of 186 ft. lb or 253 Nm. There is also a rumor that some versions of the Equinox will be fitted with a hybrid powertrain and a V6. The other alternative is a turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder engine.

According to reports, a new GMC terrain is likely to arise from the current Chevrolet Equinox. Another possibility is a midsized Buick crossover. The latter will probably be called either Anthem or Envision.
