Kia is all set to introduce an LPG bi fuel version of the Picanto in a few weeks from now at the IAA to be held in Frankfurt. The Picanto will be powered by a revamped version of Kia’s 1.0 liter, 3 cylinder Kappa gasoline engine that is capable of developing a maximum power of 67 HP (or 49 kW) and a maximum torque of 90 Nm (or 66 lb ft). The Picanto can run on Liquefied Petroleum Gas. When doing so, the Picanto will consume fuel at the rate of 5.8 liters per 100 km. The carbon footprints will also be low as the CO2 emissions have been kept at 100 g per km. The variants engineered with the automatic start stop are going to consume fuel at the rate of 5.6 liters per 100 km.

The 2013 Kia Picanto will be packed with a 35 liter gasoline tank situated just ahead of the rear axle. It will also have a 27 liter pressurized LPG tank located below the trunk floor where the spare wheel would be present otherwise. A button on the dashboard will enable drivers to toggle between gasoline and LPG.
