The production of the all new Honda Accord has started at the Marysville Ohio plant from today. This car has the EPA fuel economy rating of 1. This means that it gives an astonishing 50 mpg in city, 45 mpg on the highway and 47 mpg combined. With these figures, this new Hybrid has easily become the leader I fuel economy among the four door sedans. It gives 3mpg more than its closest competitor. The car is calculated to have a driving range of 673 miles which is 46 miles more than the nearest competitor.

The lineup of the Accord vehicle contains impressively fuel efficient machines. There is the Accord Sedan with EPA rating 1 which gives 36 mpg and the Accord Plug in hybrid which is EPA rated at 115 MPGe combined 1 in electric mode only. However, the Accord Hybrid is the first Honda hybrid vehicle to be produced in USA. Another Hybrid model that is currently being manufactured in the country is the Greensburg Indiana build civic hybrid.

Honda has a lot riding on this Accord hybrid vehicle. The Marysville auto plant has seen an expansion of 94000 sq. ft which required an investment of $18.8 million. This brings the total expenditure by Honda in Ohio alone up to $1 billion.
