The 2014 Land Rover Discovery has won a number of awards. Now, the company is preparing to come out with a new facelift model which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor show. This model has always been hugely popular. Now, with features enhancing the comfort and efficiency, it is expected to deliver class leading performance.

The new Discovery is available with 3.0 liters SDV6 engine which is same as the older model. It generates 256 hp of power and a peak torque of 600 Nm. It is mated wioth an eight speed automatic transmission. However, the engine has been tweaked to improve fuel efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint. It now gives 35.3 mpg while carbon emission has been reduced from 230g/km to 213g/km. The car takes only 8.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph and has a top speed of 180 kmph. The Intelligent Stop start technology has been incorporated in the car which has helped in improving efficiency and reducing the carbon emission of the vehicle. It now uses only 8 liters of fuel to cover 100 kms.

Several new elements have been introduced in the facelift version. Certain new technologies make driving the new version of the car an adventure. Chief among these innovations are Wade sensing – a technology that is uniquely developed by Land Rover, blind spot monitoring, closing vehicle sensors, reverse traffic detection and the T junction cameras. All these features will help you to enjoy a safe and comfortable driving experience which is one of the best in its class.

The exterior of the car bears subtle marks of redesigning though it I s still very much identifiable as the ever popular and award winning Discovery model. The front bumper and the grille has been subtly modified to create a distinctive look while the headlights now come with different LED daytime running lights. In addition to these signature LED lights, the alloy wheels have also been redesigned, resulting in a subtle new look. Finally, the name Land Rover on the bonnet has been replaced by the name Discovery so that there is no ambiguity in any of the various markets throughout the world. In the tailgate, the moniker 4 is removed and it now simply reads Discovery.

The badging of the engine has also been moved. This side badging now appears mounted on an ingot on the doors and it will read SDV6 in those versions destined for the UK market. however, no similar changes are forthcoming for the models destined for the USA and the middle Eastern markets.

The optional Black design pack remains available with the new version of the car. You can therefore add 20 inch alloy wheels and other revised detailing that come with this pack.

The experience of riding this new car with its even more advanced facelifts is rendered truly thrilling by its state of the art on board entertainment system. it comes with the Meridian Premium Audio. The standard system is equipped with eight speakers and 380 watts of power. If you were impressed by that, you will be blown away by this premium system. it comes with an unimaginable 17 speakers and produces an impressive 825 watts of power. This is truly a monster sound system, suitable for the muscular power of the car.

With these improvements which range from minor tweaks on the exterior front to major upgrades in the engine and the sound system and the safety system, Land Rover is poised to revive the interest in one of its model which has always been a favorite of the customers and orders will be taken from mid November.
