The French automobile manufacturer has presented the prototype of the Peugeot 308R at the 2013 frankfurt motor show. This car will be powered by the engine of the new RCZ R. This is a four cylinder 1.6 liters engine which develops a maximum power of 170 hp/l and has a low carbon emission of only 145 grams / km.

The design of the car is purposeful and rather aggressive with a strong presence on the road. The front portion is solid with three air intakes located in the lower section. These intakes stretch across the entire lower panel. Carbon mesh covers the two side intakes while the central intake has thin horizontal bars framed in bluish dark chrome bead. Two body style lines emit from the radiator. They serve to camouflage the two vents which circulate the air and keep the engine cool. Special, fully integrated bodywork is the hallmark of the Peugeot 308R which is the main point of distinction from the previous Peugeot 308. The metal structure of the roof and the tailgate has been retained. Doors, front wings, body sides, sills, bonnets and bumpers are made of carbon fiber and integrated into the metal work.

The mesh design has an innovative chequred design in matt black. This along with the emblematic shaped grille emphasizes the width of the car. The finish in the dark bluish chrome beads also act as highlights. One of the outstanding features of the car is its innovative braking system. It is equipped with Alcon discs of impressive dimensions. They are 380mm in diameter and 32mm thick at the front, 330mm and 22mm at the rear. They are fitted with aluminum hub and four piston calipers. They are capable of delivering rather remarkable braking powers which are delivered by 235/35 R19 tires.
