Lexus is now exploring the potential for a compact crossover within the Lexus platform and the LF – NX is the first experimental step towards it. The concept makes its appearance for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor show.

As in the recent cars launched by Lexus, the emphasis is firmly on the hybrid technology. For this car, the company has developed a new version of Hybrid technology which has been specially tuned for SUV performance. The exterior design of the car is muscular and powerful. The Lexus front grille has been reinterpreted for this model which boasts of extremely powerful signature front lighting and daytime running lights. The lights come with unique corner styling while a vertical cut separates the front wing from the bumper. The profile of the car is thrown into sharp prominence by the black protective finish, typical of the urban crossover. The classic Lexus side glazing profile, a steeply raked tailgate and diamond shape of the beltline create a silhouette reminiscent of an athletic coupe. Highly articulated lamp clusters distinguish the rear. They project downward into the full depth of the bumper which gives an aerodynamic look to the car. The new brushed metal finished exterior gives an impression of smoothness and fluidity that is integral to the persona of the car.

The interior is well designed to live up to the powerful statement made by the exterior. Touch sensitive electrostatic switches and the new touch face remote touch interface design impart a futuristic look to the car. Sunrise yellow or black leather upholstery with contrast stitching throughout with the blue instrument lighting helps in creating a plush and modern interior. The human oriented L-finesse design concept which has led to the creation of the upper display zone and lower operation zone dashboard format has added to the utility of the car.
