Lexus was the first company to introduce the hybrid technology in luxury cars. The tradition is now being continues with the introduction of the new ES300h which is the first Lexus ES car to be equipped with hybrid synergy drive. The car is powered by a 2.5 liters four cylinder Atkinson cycle engine which has been teamed with an electric motor so that the system generates a total of 200 hp. This is mated with electronic continuously variable transmission. The car takes only 8.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph.

You can select from four different modes. These are Normal, Sports, Eco and EV. Each serves a different purpose. The EV mode allows the vehicle to be driven short distances on electric power only. Normal mode is the best compromise between power and efficiency and is the most suitable mode for everyday driving. If you want greater fuel economy, you should choose Eco while Sports mode delivers a higher powertrain to deliver a more thrilling riding experience.

The exterior design of the car is striking. The coupe like profile is complemented by Lexus spindle grille dramatic L-themed LED daytime running lights. The aerodynamic design has resulted in only 0.27 coefficient of drag. The lip spoiler, blue hybrid badge, specific split five spoke 17 inch alloy wheels are other design highlights.

It is the fuel economy of the car that is probably the most impressive. It delivers 40 mpg in the city, 39 mpg on the highway and 40 mpg overall. This EPA fuel economy rating makes the ES300h one of the most fuel efficient luxury sedans available in the market.

Finally, the Siri eyes free mode technology from Apple has vastly increased the driving comfort of the car. Whether you want to play music or read directions turn by turn, Siri can do it all, leaving you to concentrate on driving.
