Bentley revealed the European only model of the Bentley Mulsanne Birkin Limited Edition this time in the Detroit Motor Show 2014. The car is inspired by Sir Henry Ralph Stanley ‘Tim’ Birkin, the legendary race driver from the 1920s and the 1930s and also a style icon in his time.

The car is limited to only 22 cars and available in three colours, Ghost white, Damson and a two tone Fountain Blue+dark sapphire. In aesthetics, the car is a visual treat with numbered door sill plaques, 21 inch wheels similar to those fitted on the original Mulsanne concept car, wood accents throughout the cabin and a 3D Flying B logo in the headrests and on the wood accents.The seats and door panels sport intricate diamond quilting patterns and indented leather headlining and ‘knurling’ details on the metalwork in the cabin. In short, the Mulsanne Birkin Limited Edition pays a befitting homage to the late Bentley boy with the myriad styling details unique and the best in British luxury. As luxury in today’s ime come with detailing and technology, the car can be bought with an Entertainment Specification package including the twin 8-inch LCD screens in the rear of the seat hand rests, a DVD player, a Wi-Fi hotspot, the Naim for Bentley premium audio system and iPads. The interesting feature is the iPads that have been integrated into the hand crafted solid wood picnic tables.

The car is similar to the standard car in engine in the form of a 6.75 litre twin turbocharged V8 engine producing 505 hp and mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The specifications of the Bentley Mulsanne Limited Edition have been crafted individually to every car and have been done keeping in mind how Tim Birkin would have preferred his car to be today. He had been constantly involved with Bentley’s performance and pushed for better.
