The Italian ‘Abarth’ brand was established in 1949 by Carlo Abarth. From 1952 he began an association with Fiat which eventually led to Fiat’s acquisition of the brand in 1971. In recent years however the brand has been re-launched as a separate division. One of the most famous cars from the partnership of the brands was the Fiat 695 Abarth, launched 50 years ago. To mark the 50thanniversary of the occasion, the ‘2015 Fiat 695 Abarth Biposto’ was launched at the 2014 Geneva International Motor Show. It will be the fastest production model of the Italian mini supercar that still continues Carlo Abarth’s original vision- “from the track to the office.”

The exterior design of this new hatchback is inspired by athletic elements, seen on the bumpers, spoilers and wheel arches. The body color is a unique ‘performance grey’. Titanium finishes have been given to door handles, rear handle, bonnet trim and tailgate. The body of the car will run on 18 inch OZ wheels.

This new model has been made a two seater. The rear seats have been replaced by Poggipolini rear roll bar made by titanium. The two front sports seats have a carbon-fiber shell and have been wrapped with titanium-colored leather and Alcantara. The steering wheel also gets carbon fiber touches. The Sabelt four-point seat belts are attached to rear roll bar. Altogether the interior combines racing car feel with a regular road car’s versatility.

The ‘2015 Fiat 695 Abarth Biposto’ have standard safety features like ESP, Anti-lock braking system, clutch-plate differential brake with self-lock and height-adjustable shock absorbers.

For the first time a 1.4 liter T-Jet engine has been added to a minicar. The engine can produce 190 horsepower. The top speed is 143 mph and the car can reach from 0 to 62 mph in an impressive 5.9 seconds.
