Iconic British car maker Jaguar has added another model to its highly acclaimed F Type sports car range. The new model is called the ‘Jaguar F-Type Project 7’ and it is all set make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in UK. Developed by the Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Operations team, the model will is an initial limited edition launch of 250 exclusive units. The model is inspired by another famous Jaguar racing car of yesteryear, the’ D Type’ ( turns 60 years in 2014) which won the famous Le Mans race three times. The name ‘Project 7’ is also a homage to the British brand’s seven Le Mans victories.


The production model has been kept mostly similar to the 2013 concept version. The car has a muscular, swooping look. The two seater car has rollover hoops behind both the seats. All 250 units of the car will have a numbered plaque between the seats that will be signed by Jaguar’s director of design, Ian Callum. The designers have put in various aero-dynamical adjusts like front spillter, rear diffuser and spoiler, side skirts etc. All these objects are made of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber has also been used to build the mirror caps, rear deck and bonnet vents. Inside the two racing style bucket seats are very lightweight. Other notable additions are carbon fiber inserts, Alcantara steering wheel and aluminum gearshift paddle. Five metallic paints are being offered as body colors- Italian Racing Red, British Racing Green, Glacier White, Ultra Blue and Ultimate Black.


This racing car is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 supercharged engine that can produce 575 PS and torque of 680 Nm. Power will be sent to the wheels with quick-shift eight speed transmissions. The Top speed is electronically limited to 186mph and the car goes 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds.
