German car manufacturers Alpina has been building cars since the 1960’s. Although it works very closely with German giants BMW, building cars based on BMW models, the brand has managed to maintain its own identity. The manufacturers have announced that they will be brining two versions of a new car to the United Kingdom to be launched at the Goodwood Festival of Speed at the end of June. The new car on offer is the ‘Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo’, available in both convertible and coupe. The car is based on the BMW 435i but is more expensive than the BMW. According to the manufacturers, 50 engineers worked on the 435i to enhance its different aspects like engine, wheel, tires, suspension etc.

While the interior is mostly the same with the BMW, except some badges, rear spoiler, front lip, wheels and heated leather sports seats. However there is no need to feel let down. The company is offering many interior customization packages that will allow the customer to choose leather for upholstery and stitching colors. The classic styled 20-inch alloy wheels are wrapped by a Pilot Super Sport tire from Michelin which has been specially developed to be used with the new ‘Alpina B4.’

Under the hood, a 3.0-litre turbo charged straight six-engine will be found that produces an awesome 410bhp and torque of 443lb ft. the engine is mated with a eight-speed auto gearbox. Alpina claims that the B4 coupe will go from 0 to 62mph in 4.2 seconds while in the convertible version it is 4.5 seconds. In case of top speed, it is 188mph for coupe/ 187mph for convertible. Alpina is also claiming that the ‘Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo’ will be able to give an impressive fuel efficiency of 37mpg and CO2 emission level as low as 177g/km. while its diesel equivalent performs better in these areas, as a petrol engine it is quite impressive.
