Acclaimed German car maker and global auto giant AUDI AG introduced the RS models for the first time in 1990. The cars that have the top tier ‘RS’ badge, deliver high power and performance with a focus on the sporting abilities. ‘RS’ in German translates literally in ‘RennSport’ which means “racing sport” in English. The company has come a long way since the time when it had the policy of building one RS model at a time. that company policy has changed and several models are simultaneously built today. The reason behind this policy shift was the increase in customer demand for high performance cars. The latest addition to the ultra elite RS family is the face-lifted 2015 ‘Audi RS7’. The first glimpse of a new model was revealed during the 2013 Motor Show in Detroit. It is based on the Audi A7 Sportback luxury car. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, senior member of the Technical Development Management board, has stated, “The Audi RS7 Sportback confirms the reputation of the RS models as the superior, top athletes of our brand.” The RS models are produced in small numbers and are sold for a short period of time. Therefore the interested buyers must hurry and quickly place their orders. The car will be available for sale from the third quarter of the year. Car aficionados with thick wallets around the world will be keenly waiting for this mighty German machine to hit the road.

The visual changes are so subtle that in first glance they are almost undetectable. But when observed carefully, it will be revealed that a new honeycomb single-frame front grille has been added. The front bumpers have modified air inlets and the shape of the LED headlights suit the shape of the front grille. Optional Matrix LED headlights have been introduced for this model. The long engine hood, sporty C pillars, redesigned rear lights and the slopping rear establishes the new car’s dynamic personality. Buyers will also get to choose from several fresh body colors like Sepang Blue, Glacier white, Floret Silver and Mythos Black. The standard wheels are 20-inch forged alloy but special 21-inch wheels are available optionally.

The interior has been given a black color theme and have attractive sports styled seats. The instrument cluster has been revivified with updated air outlet controls. The upgraded shift paddles have been placed behind the steering wheel. Audi’s famous quattro emblem easily catches the eye. The infotainment system of the car uses the new generation modular platform and is powered by MMI navigation plus and MMI touch. Audi’s partnership with famous American technological company Nvidia has yielded results and a powerful graphics processor has been placed in the system.

On the power front there are no significant changes. The 2015 ‘Audi RS7 Sportback facelift’ will have power from a 4.0-litre twin turbocharged V8 TFSI engine. The engine has capacity for producing 560bhp/ 412 kW and 513 lb-ft/ 700 Nm of torque. The powerful engine is controlled by eight-speed tiptronic transmission and Audi’s signature quattro all-wheel drive system. The top speed is 174mph/ 255 kmph. But if the buyer has the need for more speed he can go for the optional dynamics package which takes the top speed up to a mind blowing 189.5 mph/ 305 kmph. The superb acceleration takes the car from 0 to 62mph in a staggering 3.9 seconds. The engine also does well on emission with CO2 of 221 g per km. the fuel efficiency is also good. The car returns the figures of 24.8 mpg US /29.7 mpg UK or 9.5 liters per 100 km.
