British Sports car makers Louts has decided to celebrate their long history in sports car racing by launching the limited edition ‘Lotus Exige LF1’. The car will be launched ahead of the 2014 Formula One season. Though there have been various incarnations of the ‘Lotus’ name in the racing circuits, the name still revered by motorsport fans. The new limited edition car is also actually a variation of the ‘Lotus Exige S’ sports car that has been given Lotus F1 team’s interior trim and livery. Only 81 of such cars will be made with each car representing a particular Grand Prix victory, the latest of which was in 2013 when Kimi Raikkonen captured the first-place finish at the Australian Grand Prix. the marque’s first Grand Prix victory was way back in 1960 at Monaco. The car is currently on display at London’s Canary Wharf Motorexpo.

Interior/Exterior

The car looks stunning in black and gold, the traditional colors of Lotus’s Formula one team. The look is completed with the red accents. There are also exclusive Bespoke ‘LF1’ exterior badges and wheel centers. The car will run on Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo Tyres wrapped around gold spoke 17″ front and 18″ rear wheels made of cast alloy.

The interior has also been decked up with black leather and ‘technical fabric’ along with contrast piping and stitching. There are embroidered special logos on floor mats, headrests and seat backs.

Engine/Features

There is powerful air condition for comfort and high performance two-piece disc brakes for safety. The acclaimed 3.5-litre V6 supercharged engine has been retained on this car that pumps up 345 hp/350 PS and torque of 295 lb-ft /400 Nm. The ‘Lotus Exige LF1’ has awesome acceleration power of 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds and a top speed of 274 km per hour/ 170 mph.
