At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Czech automaker Skoda had showcased the ‘Octavia Scout’. Ahead of its release in August, Skoda has begun to release information about the car. Created from the Octavia Combi, the rugged, off roader look ‘Scout’ has a distinctive design. The front has received black colored plastic molding and so has the side skirts and the rear bumpers. The lower panel on the front has been given a silver color off-road attachment, while the front radiator grille holds the Scout badging. Customers can also go for Aluminum like roof railings and additional underbody protection for hostile roads. The brand new Scout has a ground clearance of 171 mm which is 31 mm higher than the regular Octavia model. 17-inch alloy wheels will wrapped with 220/50 R17 tires.

For the interior, the buyer can choose from two color themes- classic black or dual color brown/black combination. The vehicle has been made spacious much like the Combi on which it is based. With normal seat arrangement the boot volume is 610 liters and with the rear seats folded it becomes 1,740 liters.

Three engine choices are available with the ‘Skoda Octavia Scout’. There is a 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine that can create 184 PS /135 kW and comes paired with a six-speed auto dual-clutch transmission (DSG) and all-wheel drive system. The 2.0 liter TDI diesel unit can also be tune for 150 PS /110 kW power. In this case, the engine will be exclusively paired with manual six-speed gearbox. The engine has average fuel intake of 5.1 liters/100 km and 129 g/km CO2 emission. There is only one petrol unit option, a 1.8 liter TSI engine with capacity of 180 PS/ 132 kW. It comes fitted with a 6-speed auto DSG gearbox and consumes 6.9 liters per 100 km.
