The British brand ‘Mini’ has a long history of building smaller yet stylish and powerful cars. After its acquisition by German giants BMW, it has introduced more variety in its line up including SUV’s. The ‘Mini Paceman’ 3 door compact SUV was first introduced at the 2011 North American International Auto Show. It was based on the ‘Countryman’ crossover SUV. The production version came on the road in late 2012. It is considered as the first ever Sports Activity Coupe in the segment of premium compact cars. Now the manufacturers are ready with the 2015 model year version. It has been enhanced with new design and features.


This new Mini has been given a very expressive and distinctive body design that reflects the hallmarks of the brand. There is a high-opening tailgate indicating the high level of functionality and versatility. The upright front of the car with the hexagonal radiator grille and large headlamps make a solid visual impact. The lights of the rear are now arranged horizontally for the first time ever in a Mini. Other notable exterior features are- new body paint colors like jungle green and midnight metallic grey, lightweight alloy wheels etc.

The car is designed as a 4-seater. Sports seats in the front has been made standard and The rear seats have much shoulder and head room for comfort. The central instrument panel carries the John Cooper Works logo.


The 2015 Mini Paceman will be powered by a 1.6 liter engine that can give an output of 121 hp and torque of 114 pound-feet.

The S trim variant will carry 190 horsepower, while the John Cooper Works variant has 218 horsepower. It is also is the fastest variant with an acceleration of 0 to 62 mph in just 6.9 seconds. The top speed is expected to be around a figure of 150 mph.
