Mitsubishi has introduced the face lifted 2015 model year version of the iconic SUV ‘Pajero’ in Japan. While there are some changes both inside and outside of the car, no major mechanical changes have been made. The official press release says, ““All-round crossover SUV in the Pajero, Mitsubishi Motors, some facilities improvements such as improving texture of interior design and change of appearance. The car will be on sale from Thursday, July 17 through the series of national sales company.” The company is yet to announce any plans for launching the face lifted SUV in any other markets but given the history of the model, it will not be surprising if it happens.

The modestly revised exterior has adopted the SUV design concept that was introduced last year at the Tokyo Motor Show. The front fascia now has a linear trend and has received a new front radiator grille. The other changes included are new fog lights, powerful LED daytime running lights. The spare tire cover has been given a new design. Inside the cabin gets its share of modest changes. The central panel now gets a piano black finish in the VR II variant model. While in the Super Exceed and Exceed variant models, there will be a wood grain finish instead. Some more metallic trims have also been added. Extra sound reducing material has been used to make the cabin quieter than before. Air outlets have been carefully positioned to make the air conditioning more effective. The quality of the material used in the interior has been improved.

As previously mentioned there are no mechanical changes. The available engine options have been carried over from the outgoing model. The options include a 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine and a four-cylinder 3.2 liter turbo diesel engine. Mitsubishi claims that both the engines will have good emission levels.
