Introduced in 2005, the ‘Charger’ full size sedan from Chrysler owned brand Dodge has been a successful model. The second generation model was launched in 2011. Chrysler wanted to put the potential of the car to proper use by launching a high performance, variant ‘Charger SRT-8’. It was launched in the year 2006. It was developed by Chrysler’s performance division, Street and Racing Technology (SRT). After the second generation ‘Charger’ was launched, a new SRT model also followed suit in 2012. Now, Dodge has developed the new ‘Charger SRT Hellcat’ for 2015 which can turn out to be a game changer.

According to the official press release, Dodge is stepping up its efforts in the high-performance car field. With this target, they have recently unveiled the new 2015 model year ‘Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat’. The new version of the ‘Charger’ will be carrying the 6.2 liter supercharged HEMI® engine that will produce a huge amount of horsepower and torque. The makers claim that the new car is the most powerful, quickest and fastest sedan in production. It is a highly  capable muscle car (four door) in the American market that is also powered by advanced automobile technology. The 2015 model year ‘Charger SRT Hellcat’ will be put together at the Assembly plant in Brampton. Production will begin from early 2015. President and CEO of the Dodge/ SRT Brands, Tim Kuniskis has said that in last eight years, the successful formula of the ‘Dodge Charger’ has assumed many interesting personalities. On one hand it is a typical muscle car but on the other hand a sedan with high performance. It is also perfectly fit to be a family  sedan. The customer can equip the car according to choice. Tim Kuniskis also said that he feels that by building cars like this, brands are built. While it is not a typical business case, but it is beneficial  for the brand nonetheless.

Exterior/ Interior

While design-wise past American muscle cars have inspired the new Dodge model, both the interior and exterior is modern in its essence. Outside, the iconic design has been made a  little sinister than before. This thanks to the  new fascia and hood in the front,  and also the spoiler and  design of the rear. The aluminum hood has a power-bulge and also intakes that will send cold air inside. Dual air extractors have also been fitted. The new front grille has black textures. The integrated front splitter maintains the airflow and also the balance of the vehicle.  The single   piece rear spoiler comes in body color and also 4-inch round exhaust tips can be seen. The ‘racetrack’ LED tail lamps are similar to those of the 2014 Dodge Durango. There is also a rear camera. The ‘slingshot’ seven spoke wheels are wrapped by Pirelli P Zero tires.

The interior layout of the 2015 ‘Charger SRT Hellcat’ puts the focus on the driver. High standard soft-touch materials make up the interior. Main notable features inside are- an advanced 8.4-inch touch screen Uconnect infotainment system and a 7 inch TFT digital instrument gauge cluster. For entertainment there is a Harmon Kardon audio system with 900 watt sound  and 18-speakers. The SRT steering wheel has heating function. The seats are now  more comfortable thanks to extra cushioning.

To back the claim of being the world’s most powerful sedan, the new model has been equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 HEMI supercharged engine. It generates an awesome 707 hp. The car can reach -100-0 mph under 13 seconds, while the highest speed is at 204 mph. The Hellcat also has a front-brake package with Brembo two-piece rotors (15.4-inch) and calipers with six pistons.
