The General Motors owned brand Baojun made a splash in the Chinese market with the launch of the stylish yet affordable ‘630’ NPV car. Now they are looking for the same result with the new ‘730’ MPV. The official press release said, “SAIC-GM-Wuling today launched the Baojun 730 seven-seat family vehicle. The new model will be available at 2,600 Wuling and Baojun showrooms across China with a price of between RMB 69,800 and RMB 81,800. The Baojun 730 was created based on the feedback of millions of SAIC-GM-Wuling customers to address the needs of growing Chinese families. Based on a new front-engine, front-wheel-drive platform developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling, the model has a spacious interior, advanced safety features and a variety of interior amenities.” The car is now available for sale.

The new car has been designed for the family with sitting capacity for seven. Different trim levels are available . It is available in no less than eight exterior colors- Sky Silver, Candy White, Desert Gold, Storm Grey, Sandy Gold, Starry Night Black, Earth Brown and Amber Gold. The seven seater ‘730’ has been nicely equipped with useful features like cruise control, a dual-zone climate control and power sunroof for nice views of the outside world. The buyers will also find rearview camera and an advanced infotainment system with 8 inch display and USB / Bluetooth support. The model also features a McPherson front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension that were tuned by the famous Lotus Engineering.

For power, two engines will be available. The 1.5-liter unit can produce 110 bhp (82 kW) and torque of 147 Nm (108 lb-ft). It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 17 seconds and the top speed is in excess of 150 km/h (93 mph). The more powerful 1.8-liter engine will give buyers 135 bhp (101 kW) and 186 Nm (137 lb-ft) of torque. Acceleration is from 0-100 km/h in less than 15 seconds and the top speed is in excess of 160 km/h (99 mph).
