Audi AG, the world renowned German automobile manufacturer was established in 1932 by August Horch. The word ‘Audi’ is actually the Latin translation of the Horch which means ‘listen’ in Latin. Audi is part of Volkswagen group since 1966. Audi cars are produced in 9 countries. Audi is one of the ‘German Big 3’ luxury car makers along with Mercedes and BMW and is among the world’s best selling luxury car brands. Apart from luxurious vehicles, Audi also develops high performance variants that focus on sporting performance. These models are labeled as ‘S’ and ‘RS’ cars and are fitted with the trademark Quattro four-wheel drive. ‘Audi TT’ is one of Audi’s best know sports cars that was first launched in 1998. It is currently in its third generation. The first ‘Audi TTS’ (S model of the ‘TT’) came out in 2008. The 2014 Geneva Motor Show saw the unveiling of the 2016 model year ‘Audi TTS’ and the regular ‘TT’. Both cars will go for sale in 2015.

According to Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Management Board Member of AUDI AG ( Technical Development) the ‘TT’ is a landmark of authentic design and top level performance. He feels that with the new third generation models, Audi is making this advanced technology more easy to use for the driver. They can enjoy an experience similar to driving a real sports vehicle. It is worth remembering that Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg was part of the original design team that developed the concept of the Audi TT in 1995. The first generation TT became famous for its geometrically coherent design. Now the makers are looking to re-launch the modern classic with the introduction of the latest generation of ‘TT’ and ‘TTS’. The stylish, compact sports car will be winning hearts with its dramatic design, excellent driving dynamics and advanced technology. With its muscular, athletic look the designers at Audi has tried to give a modern interpretation to the famous lines of the original 1998 model. Off course there are several modern dynamic tweaks. The new Coupé has a length of 4.18 meters (13.7 ft), a 2.51 meters (8.2 ft) wheelbase and short overhangs.

The front fascia of the new model is marked by horizontal lines. There is a broad, flat Singleframe radiator grille. There are struts structuring the front air intakes that are also interconnected. Similarly the headlamps also have dividing struts constituting the daytime running lamps. Audi will also offer buyers LED headlights or lights powered by Matrix LED technology. In this innovative technology the high beam is produced by very small individual light-emitting diodes. Also there are dynamic turn signals. They run in the direction to which the driver is intending to turn. This provides helpful additional information to other people on the road.

The driver focused interior underlines the sporting character of the car. There is a multi-functional steering wheel that provides access to the important functions. Then there is the 12.3-inch, fully digital display that can be viewed in two modes. The sports seats are low mounted. Optional ‘S’ sporting seats are also available. The interior has two tone color theme and will be available in various combinations.

The third generation model will be launched with three new powerful four-cylinder engines. The ‘TT’ will have one TFSI and one TDI engine. on the other hand, the ‘TTS’ variant will come with a range topping TFSI engine. The 2.0 liter TDI has 135 kW (184 hp) power and torque of 380 Nm (280.3 lb-ft). The 2.0 liter TFSI engine will produce 169 kW (230 hp) power for the ‘TT’ and 228 kW (310 hp) power for the ‘Audi TTS’ model.
