The Civic is one of the best known cars from pioneering Japanese car maker Honda. While it was originally a sub-compact size car across several generations it became a compact sized car. The first generation was launched way back in 1973. Currently it is in its ninth generation. Over the years, the ‘Civic’ has established itself as one of Honda’s most successful models with 16.5 million worldwide unit sales with 7.3 million sold only in the USA. For a brief period of time, ‘Honda Civic’ also became the top selling vehicle in the USA, a rare achievement for a foreign brand. At the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Honda will be presenting several enhancements for the ‘Civic’ range of cars and will also introduce a new variant, the ‘Civic Sport’. Before the public debut, details and photos have been released by Honda.

Every ‘Civic’ model of the 2015 model year will be fitted with the City- Brake Active system developed by Honda. It will be added as a standard feature. The system helps to designed to help avoid or lower the impact of accidents occurring in low speeds. The system will only work when speed is below 30 km/hour.

The ‘Civic Sport’ will be added first to its European line-up. The ‘Civic Sport’ is actually based on the hatchback version. The sporty model will draw power from a 1.6-litre diesel engine with 120 PS or a 1.8-litre petrol engine with 142 PS. Other features include- a body color rear spoiler and special 17-inch alloy wheels. The Civic Sport also has design elements similar to the upcoming ‘Type R’ model. these include -new bumper at the front, black colored roof lining and lower grille mesh. New additions for the 2015 model year includes the Honda Connect infotainment system with Am/FM/ Internet Radio, Bluetooth, rear camera, Internet and satellite navigation.
