2014 Peugeot Quartz Concept 3 Peugeot set to present 2014 Quartz Concept

French car maker Peugeot is presenting a new SUV concept at October’s Paris Motor Show. Ahead of the official public debut, photo and info about the car was released online. According to Maxime Picat, Chief Executive Officer of Peugeot, the recent ‘Exalt’ and ‘Quartz Concepts’ will help the French brand to share its vision of the premium automobile market.He also said that Peugeot is very much committed to the development of exclusive concepts that will excite customers with eye-catching design, innovative use of new materials and unmatched driving sensation. With the new ‘Quartz concept’ Peugeot has tried to combine SUV like body and sedan like cabin. The new concept crossover has built on the EMP2 platform developed by PSA group. It was first seen on the ‘Peugeot 308’, and will be used in more Peugeot models in the coming days.

The concept crossover has 4500mm length, 2060 mm of width and rides on sleek 23-inch alloy wheels. The wheels have composite flaps as cover. The flaps help in aerodynamics and also to help keep the brakes cool. LED lights are fitted both at front and rear and the Peugeot lion emblem catches eye with its prominent placement on the as part of the front grille. The concept’s bonnet is long and the cabin is low-slung cabin. The point where the rear hatch and roofline connects, there are two small spoilers. Inside there is a multi-functional steering wheel and two digital dashboard displays and also a head-up display. There are four bucket style seats and the cabin gets a leather and textile fiber trim.

The ‘Quartz concept’ is a plug-in hybrid and the power comes from a 1.6-litre 4 cylinder THP engine and also two electric motors that together creates power of 493bhp. The powertrain is paired with a six-speed auto transmission.
