Italian car maker Maserati was founded back in 1914. The company is known to build luxury cars with high performance and attractive design. The company was founded by a family of brother who had the surname Maserati and hence derives the company name. After several ownership changes, the brand is currently owned by the Fiat group. Until Fiat’s acquisition the company was a rival for Ferrari but currently both brands fall under the fiat group. In 2014, the company has revealed its intentions of entering the high performance segment once again to compete with brands like BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar and even its sister brand Ferrari. The biggest market for Maserati is the USA. One of Maserati’s current production models is the ‘Ghibli’, a luxury saloon/sedan. It was first unveiled at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. It is the first ever car from Maserati that is offered with a diesel engine apart from two other petrol engine. The top performing variant of the model is the ‘Ghibli S Q4’. The model is currently on sale in the American market. At the recently held 2014 Paris Motor Show, a new concept edition based on the ‘S Q4’ and it has been named ‘Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Edition’.

The new concept car has been developed by Maserati and designed by leading Italian fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna. On the outside, the concept model has a unique three layered Azzurro Astro blue color which is blue in the brightest areas and turns almost grayish in the darker parts. The main other highlight is the 20 inch Urano alloy wheels that has been given a special liquid metal finish. The main focus is on the inside of this car. The exclusive two material interior consists of fine leather and a special silk fabric developed by Ermenegildo Zegna. The silk material can also be found on pillars, sun visors etc. Door panels and central tunnel has carbon fiber trims. The car runs on a Twin-turbo 3.0 liter V6 engine that can produce 410 Hp power and torque of 550 Nm. The car hits 0 to 100 km in just 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 284 km/h.
