While Lotus Cars is not a big scale auto maker, it is famous for its remarkable success in the Formula 1 circuit. To bring some taste of track to the road, Lotus has been developing excusive sports cars for several years now. The British brand was established in 1952 by influential British automotive figure Colin Chapman. Currently it is owned by Malaysian industrial corporation DRB-HICOM. Lotus began developing the popular sport car ‘Elise’ in 1994 and it was finally released in 1996. It is a two-seater roadster and its name was derived from Elisa, the name of the granddaughter of the then chairman of Lotus. The second generation was launched in 2001 and it was given a face-lift in 2011. The ‘Lotus Elise’ has received praise for its design and driving experience and has received many awards over the years. For the 2015 model year, Lotus is all set to bring out a new version of the ‘Elise’ and it is called the ‘Elise S Cup’. The ‘S Cup’ is based on the ‘S Cup R racer’ variant but is more focused towards the road. With this car the makers want to bring a flavor of the race track to the road. CEO of Lotus, Jean-Marc Gales, has said that the new version looks to bring pure driving pleasure alongside the signature Lotus attributes like top performance, excellent ride quality, strong handling and light weight. Those drivers who are looking for a genuine on-road sports car should seriously consider this new Lotus. The new ‘Elise’ can be considered as the most track oriented on road model of the entire range. It carries the ‘Cup’ branding that hints at its close ties with the race track. It also has a fixed hard top which was seen only in the ‘Exige’ model till now.

  • There are several exterior color options in various shades of yellow, white, orange, blue, red and green.

Optional Features-

The buyer can go for the optional ‘Comfort Pack’ that consists of sound system with CD/MP3, special logoed carpet mats, footrest for the passengers, improved sound insulation and central locking.
