Japanese auto maker Nissan first unveiled the compact sized crossover ‘Qashqai’ in 2007. It was launched to replace the Nissan Mistral off-roader. The name ‘Qashqai’ has been derived from the name of a Iranian tribe . However in Nissan’s domestic market of Japan and Australia, the car was sold under the name ‘Dualis’. With the launch of this model Nissan had also launched the P32L platform that was later used in other models as well. The model is built in the UK and is the first Nissan model that was developed by Nissan’s European design studio and technical center. The model has been quite successful with around 2 million units sold till now. The second generation model was revealed in 2013 as 2014 model year. For The 2015 model year, the ‘Qashqai’ will be sold under its original name in the Australian market, however in Japan the model has been discontinued. Nissan ‘Qashqai’ has seen success in Europe especially UK and therefore the makers will be keeping the model interesting with updates and face lifts in the coming years.

For the 2015 model year, the car has been made bolder, bigger and more features have been added. Nissan designers have tried to make the Qashqai more premium than before with addition of new swept-back headlights, LED tail lamps, bold looking chrome based radiator grille. Acros trim levels, steel made wheels as well as stylish looking alloy wheels of 16 inch size. Some higher trims also have integrated LED running lamps and chrome surround for the fog lamps. The interior of the car has been designed carefully with abundance of soft-touch materials and piano black trim. Some of the features include- Bluetooth, climate control, auto lights and wipers. There will be a total of four engine options with the standard being a four cylinder 1.2 liter, 113 bhp unit.
