The Opel corsa has been a bestseller with 4 model generations spanning over 32 years and selling more than 12 million corsas. The all new corsa seems to be Opel’s answer to Volkswagen’s polo and Ford’s fiesta. The corsa model alongwith astra accounts for one quarter of the company’s sale that clearly indicates the popularity of the mode l. Corsa has got everything it takes to be no.1 in the European market in small car segment. The car has a great combination of German engineering and emotional design and comes with a great price/performance ratio. The automaker claims that the new fifth generation will continue the exemplary success of previous generations and will surprise everyone through its driving experience.

The interior of the fifth generation corsa will give you a sense of sophistication, clarity and workmanship. The new model is available in distinct 3 door and 5 door body styles. The 3 door version is more funky and has the looks of a sports car while the 5 door version looks more like a family car. The exterior is completely in compliance with the previous versions so that any one can recognize it just from the first look itself. The side view of both three door version and five door version are quite different due to their individual window graphics. The rear view of this model seems to be completely different than that used to be in the previous versions with rear split lamps widening the rear side giving it a more improved and better stance. A large palette of vibrant colors for the exteriors have been created specially for this model.

The interiors are no shorter than fabulous, showcasing the next level of Opel’s design philosophy. Each material to be used for the interiors has been carefully selected to reflect the quality and craftsmanship of German engineering. Qualities like quieter whisper, more comfort and better precision, differ the new corsa from pre-existing versions. The new corsa comes with a lot of driver assisting systems which have definitely raised its standard amongst its rivals. The new corsa will also introduce opel’s award winning intellilink infotainment system that will bring the world of smartphones and other apps altogether in a single cabin.The car comes loaded with especially designed driver assisting system as well as smart parking system that will aid the driver to park perfectly in a space effective manner. The corsa will be featuring 3 airbags system one for the front passenger and driver, side airbags and head curtain airbags both in front and rear.

The car will be having a small gasoline 3 cylinder 1.0 litre ECOTEC direct injection turbo engine. The engine ensures driving comfort and pleasure combined with excellent efficiency. Another version will be using a more powerful 1.4 litre Turbo engine. While coming to the diesel side the car will offer two 1.3CDTi engines offering 75hp and 95hp.The 1.0 litre will be accompanied by a compact six speed manual gearbox with minimum internal friction to provide better efficiency and excellent shift comfort. The diesel engine would reduce the CO2 emissions down to 85g/km and fuel consumption to 3.2 litres per 100km making it highly efficient.

A stiif quality control test was performed in all areas during its development. Corsa seems to be a little ahead than all other competitors in its category and seems to attract a huge crowd the day it gets launched in Europe. In Europe it will also be sold under the brand Vauxhall as well. Although the car is believed to face a stiff competition from another German manufacturer Volkswagen’s polo and it would be interesting to see who wins the final race. As of now the car is all set to be released in Europe by the end of this year.
