Lamborghini has revealed the all new Huracan GT3. The covers were taken off the car at the company’s headquarters located in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. The model shall compete in the renowned Blancpain Endurance Series which would be held at the end of this year, at five venues in Europe. It is priced at $427,375.
Under the hood is present the direct-injected V10 5.2-liter engine that is mated to a six-speed sequential transmission which has a three-disc racing clutch. The engine and traction control is handled by Bosch Motorsport control unit. The car is also equipped with an FIA-approved Bosch ABS system. It has 12 settings and modulates the car’s six-piston front as well as four-piston rear brakes. The curb weight amounts to 2732 pounds.
The car has a composite body along with an aerodynamic body kit. This comprises of carbon fiber canards, an adjustable front spoiler and a new hood. Other prominent features in the exterior are the ventilated front fenders, adjustable rear wing and modified side skirts. The rear diffuser looks aggressive; also present is an impressive dual exhaust system. The gearbox has been better positioned for optimum aerodynamics. GT3 is also a rear-wheel-drive just like Huracan Super Trofeo.
Though the company hasn’t revealed much of the technical details, it mentioned that the car has aluminium and carbon fiber chassis. Also, the front and rear subframe have been altered. Other specifications are the high-performance brakes and an FIA-compliant roll-cage. As for safety, the car has several facilities including – roof hatch to make a quick exit in case of emergency, a carbon-frame seat, OMP fire system, OMP seat harnesses and FT3 racing fuel cell. Images of the interior have not been released yet. The company has claimed that the inside will have a carbon fiber racing seat and a multifunction steering wheel with a new design.
