After revealing the first looks last December, McLaren has come forward with more details of their new launch. The company is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the special edition of 650S Coupe Le Mans. McLaren has stylistically modified the legendary F1 GTR to come up with their latest model.
The manufacturing has been limited to just 50 units and the car is available for a grand £244,500 or $371,500. As compared to the stock version, the mechanical details are unchanged. All of the models are going to be coupes. The car would be available for sale by the middle of this year. The 50 buyers shall have the privilege of attending the 20th anniversary celebrations on the renowned track of France. 650S Coupe Le Mans is the result of joint collaboration of MSO and Peter Stevens-McLaren F1 designer. The significant change in the looks is the snorkel air intake that sits on the roof. It channels the air-flow to the V8 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine. The powerful engine generates 641 HP and a torque of 500 lb-ft. Armed with such terrific technology, the car can race from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds. It boasts a top speed of 207 mph.
The louvers on the front wings serve the purpose of increasing the downforce. Another new feature can be seen in the exterior, as the front and back get 19 and 20 inch alloy wheels respectively. Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires have been used. Another modification is in the interior soundtrack. As for the styling, it is akin to #59 Le Mans-winning F1 GTR. The car features McLaren MSO-developed rear diffuser and side blades. Other prominent features are touches of McLaren Orange on the brake calipers, rocker sills and the classy sport seats. The standard carbon ceramic brakes are accompanied by orange calipers.
