2015 Polo R WRC was revealed by Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, Germany on Thursday. The car comes with a revised rear wing and a dark-blue livery which is also new. The company has modified the front half from white to dark blue. Light blue and white stripes merge into the rear that is white. Also, the rear has a new wing.
The company has designed a new hydraulically activated gearbox, which is the biggest change. It can be operated by the use of steering column mounted paddle shifters. The company has also modified many of the carry-over components from the 2014 model, with the aim of making the package lighter, simpler and stronger as well. Dr. Heinz-Jakob Neußer, Volkswagen Technical Development boss, reported that the company has brought about significant development to Polo R WRC. The interior, as well as exterior have undergone intense development. Besides looking even more dynamic and sporty, the car is blessed with the technical innovations of the engineers. Several aspects under the bonnet have been enhanced. The car will be launched at Monte Carlo, held from 22nd to 25th January. This year, the company will field three models; these will be driven by the teams Jari-Matti Latvala / Miikka Anttila, Andreas Mikkelsen / Ola Fløene and Sébastien Ogier / Julien Ingrassia.
