Toyota has facelifted the 2015 Auris and the car is in for debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show next week, held from 3rd to 15th March. It will be displayed along with Avensis at the event. The automakers shall continue the manufacture of both these models at their UK powerplant located in Burnaston, near Derby.
A look of just the front fascia is currently available and a bunch of modifications can be seen. The grill has been redesigned, the bumper too has been revised and the headlights sport a sharper look. Though the rear hasn’t been revealed as yet, what can be expected is that it might have been given some new graphics. Toyota may have revised the bumper and tweaked the taillights.
The company has released images of the interior too. It looks somewhat dull but elegant- thanks to the glossy black accents that adorn the dashboard. The old-school clock now sits on the right side of the touchsceen display. The air vents sport a new look and the touchsceen display is now bigger. It is expected that the car might have some new choices for the upholstery to contend successfully in the compact segment that is highly competitive.
The company says that both hatchback as well as wagon come with new diesel and gasoline engines that have been improved. The hybrid continues to occupy an important position. It was the champion in the line-up and accounted for 50% of the sales of Auris in Europe last year.
Also, a third model may be added to the lineup. This one will be called Auris Cross and is expected to hit the markets later in 2015, though its name isn’t confirmed as yet. It will boast greater ride height. The all-wheel drive system may come as optional and the body cladding would be of plastic.
