The Mercedes Benz S600 is definitely the most well known Pullman car and it is now celebrating its 50th birthday. The second generation Pullman called the Pullman Maybach is all set to debut at the same time at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is 21.3 feet in length. The generously appointed lounge car in the rear is the mark of a true Pullman car. Two executive seats are positioned facing the direction of travel. The car allows four passengers to sit facing each other while the electrically controlled partition window affords a degree of privacy. The car will be delivered at the beginning of 2016.
The S600 is powered by a V12 biturbo engine of 5980 cc. It produces a power of 390 kw and a maximum torque of 830 Nm at 1900 rpm. The name Pullman has always been associated with exclusive and spacious seating and this car is no exception. On special request, the two additional seats can be removed and the car becomes available only in the executive version. The executive seats can be adjusted in various ways to ensure maximum comfort. The backrest, the cushion and the calf rests can all be adjusted separately while the head restraints come with extra cushion.
High quality leather has been used liberally in the interior. Roof liner, door frames and seat consoles are all lined with it. Three different analogue instruments on the roof liner inform the passenger about outside temperature, time and speed. Privacy is ensured by an electrically controlled glass partition wall which can not only be lowered at will, but can also change from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button. The Burmester® High-End 3D Surround Sound System provides on board entertainment. All the features in this car can be customized to create a truly unique vehicle.
