Bentley has given a facelift to Continental GT family as well as Flying Spur. The company has even taken the wraps off these beauties before their debut at Geneva Motor Show. They will appear at the show on 3rd March.
The latest Continental GT lineup boasts a redesigned front bumper. The radiator grille is now smaller and the newly designed fenders look more prominent and have a new vent. The rear has a more sculpted boot lid. As for the rear bumper, it has been reshaped and widened. Also present is the full-width brightware. The car runs on 20-inch and 21-inch wheels. Buyers have three excellent options for body paint. Marlin is a rich metallic blue, Jetstream is a light & bright metallic blue and Camel is a soft golden tone.
The cabin has an all-new steering wheel which the company says, is more sports-orientated and ergonomic as well. The gear-shift paddles are larger and have metal embellishers. New decorative elements sit on the center console that has new black gear lever surround. Brightware elements have been updated. The instrument cluster features new dials. The V8 and V8 S coupe models get a new storage compartment present between the rear seats. It can accommodate charging electronic devices such as iPads. LEDs illuminate the luxurious interior.
GT W12 and GT Speed models get the all-new semi-aniline hide that is softer. The material, that is the best quality leather available in automobiles, covers the seat cushions and backrests. It has the most comfortable, natural and luxurious feel. Two new shades for the leather are available- one is Shortbread and the other is Camel. The headlining of GT W12, GT V8 S and Speed coupe models will be offered in Alcantara® and the colour is matched to all the 17 available hide colours for the interior. Onboard WiFi offers connectivity to all the handheld devices within car. This facility is present across the Continental family.
The car runs on the twin turbo 6.0-liter W12 powertrain that has received certain changes. The power has been boosted from 575 HP to 590 HP. As for the torque, it has been enhanced from 700 Nm to 720 Nm. The engine can run on 6 of the 12 cylinders present so as to reduce fuel consumption. This has been made possible by a variable displacement system. An increase of 5% has been achieved in the fuel economy.
The Flying Spur comes with exquisite luxury, breath taking beauty and impressive performance. It strikes the perfect balance between riveting looks and top-notch performance. This new model is armed with W12 engine that churns out a massive 625 HP power and 800 Nm torque. This one too, has a variable displacement system. This ensures lower CO2 emissions equal to 333 g/km. The engine has enhanced grand touring capability and even greater efficiency than before.
The exterior features new 20-inch wheels that come with both W12 and V8 powered versions. These are available to customers in there different finishes. Buyers have another option of 21-inch wheels that is available on the Flying Spur W12 Mulliner. It is a seven-twin-spoke design that is available as Graphite painted or polished. It is also offered with bright machining finishes.
The driver instruments have been upgraded and feature contemporary graphics. The car has an onboard WiFi hotspot system that is present in the continental family. This provides high quality connectivity while travelling. The car has the same body paint options as the GT, that is – Camel, Marlin and Jetstream. Also, Camel and Shortbread hides have been added to the wide range of leathers. The steering wheel has a new design that is more sporting and appealing than before.
