Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has delighted VW Caddy fans by revealing the fourth generation of this vehicle. The previous generation of VW Caddy had an excellent sales of about 1.5 million. This brand new model will hit the German markets at the end of June this year. Dealers of Germany will start taking orders in March.
The car follows the EU6 emissions standard to ensure utmost efficiency. Four TDI diesel versions are available and all of them are based on a two-litre four cylinder engine. The power output ranges from 75 HP to 150 HP – of the top engine. Caddy panel van Blue Motion boasts the lowest fuel consumption- less than four liters per 100 kilometers. As for the petrol engines, buyers have three options. The range starts from four-cylinder 1.2-litre TSI that yields 84 HP. Another one is the three-cylinder 1.0-litre TSI which generates 102 HP. Top of the range is the four-cylinder 1.4-litre TSI that gives 125 HP.
Volkswagen Caddy is equipped with various features to make the ride most comfortable for passengers. As Member of the Board for Technical Development at Volkswagen – Hans-Joachim Rothenpieler said, the company has incorporated numerous driver assistance systems for the driver’s support. These features are top-notch in the urban delivery van segment. One such facility is Front Assist surroundings monitoring system that includes City Emergency Braking. In case the driver is unable to notice an obstacle below 30 km/h, the technology is designed such that brakes shall automatically be applied to avert the collision.
Heated windscreen ensures that the driver always has a good view of the road ahead. Driver Alert system is capable of detecting abnormal driving behavior. It then suggests that the driver should take a break in order to avoid any accidents. Other features are side and curtain airbags, Park Assist and Discover Media radio navigation system.
