Aston Martin will now deliver the recently launched Lagonda Taraf to greater people around the globe. But the car will be manufactured in limited numbers. The company will start accepting orders for this model, from the prospective owners in more of major markets. Currently, the company offers this particular model to United Kingdom, Continental Europe (EU legislation-compliant) and also South Africa. Now since the auto makers shall be reaching out to greater number of customers, they will re-engineeer Lagonda Taraf to make it available in both forms- left-hand and right-hand drive.
Dr Andy Palmer is the CEO of the company and said that providing Lagonda Taraf to greater number of clients all round the world was his top priority, when he joined Aston Martin towards the end of last year. He wants to make this exemplary saloon available to all the potential owners across the globe.
In the beginning, this model was available to just the Middle East customers. It was launched in the end of 2014 in Dubai and has since then been strictly production-limited to just 200 units. It is based on the company’s VH architecture- that is utmost flexible. The car is inspired from the famous 1976 Lagonda designed by the legendary William Towns. It is loaded with the modern and exceptional technology that is seen in other sports cars of the company, for example – the use of carbon fibre for the body panels on a large scale.
It is powered by a V12 6.0- liter engine and has been hand-built at the company’s manufacturing plant located at Gaydon, Warwickshire. This particular building had been previously used for the manufacture of the model One-77. The car will be made available via a VIP sales programme. The prices will not be disclosed but due to the greater bespoke content, the prices are expected to significantly differ.
