The 2016 Range Rover Sports would be getting some cool updates by Land Rover. The updated model can be ordered from April onwards. The American customers will now have the choice of a diesel version. This model runs on a Td6 turbodiesel 3.0-liter engine that is rated 254 bhp and 595 Nm. With this, Range Rover Sports is expected to have a fuel economy of 24 mpg (combined). Also, SDV8 diesel is accompanied by engine start/stop. In the EU6 markets, the SDV6 Hybrid lowers CO2 emissions. 169 g/km is now 164 g/km.
The surround cameras and rearview have been improved for clearer view. Buyers also get great options for personalization. A new feature is the Carbon Fiber Pack which comprises of high-gloss lacquer accents for grille surround, bonnet vents, tailgate trim, mirrors, fog lamp bezels and side vents.
InControlTM Remote is now called InControlTM Protect. It will automatically make contact with emergency services if an accident occurs and the owners would be able to contact Land Rover Assistance. Moreover, InControlTM Protect lets the owner remotely check the fuel level. InControl Remote Premium lets the owners remotely perform lock / unlock, blow the horn, flash the lights and also reset alarm.
For enhancing the off-road capability of the vehicle, the feature Terrain Progress Control has been provided as a standard for all the 2016 Range Rover Sports. The Auto Access Height too is standard and offers better ease for exit/entry. With this system, the vehicle will be automatically lowered for accessing height at the time when the vehicle stops and the door would be opened. Another feature is Gesture Tailgate. With this, the owners can operate the tailgate hands-free. It is operated by waving the foot below the rear of the car. Twin-sensors let the customers trigger the tailgate from kerbside. Moreover, the system has been designed to be completely compatible with tow bar.
