Renaultsport has presented a special edition of Clio Renaultsport. Displayed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, this model is called Clio Renaultsport 220 Trophy EDC. It shall be available for sale in the summer of this year. The engineers have improved the driving characteristic of this car. Besides enhancing the performance, this special edition bears more appealing looks and unique styling.
The technical improvements are greater power and torque. The engine delivers 10% more power and 40 Nm of additional torque. The turbo is larger and the air intake has been engineered to reduce the pressure losses. The exhaust system has been re-designed so as to decrease the back pressure losses and accommodate Euro6 catalytic converter. Now the peak power is 220 HP at 6,250rpm. While the maximum torque is now 260 Nm- a rise of 20 Nm. The feature Torque Boost is present in both fourth gear and fifth gear. It increases the maximum torque to 280 Nm, which is a gain of 40 Nm. The CO2 emissions now amount to 138 g/km.
The Engine features Stop & Start. This system remains operational in Normal Mode, but gets deactivated in Race Mode and Sport Mode. A 40% faster gearshift in Sport and Normal modes and 50% faster in case of Race Mode can be experienced. This has been made possible by recalibration of software.
The new matt body color is Frost White. Gloss back has been used for the rear spoiler and the roof. The 18-inch wheels come with diamond-effect facings as well as black inserts. The front blade, door sill and door mouldings – all feature the badging ‘Trophy’. The cabin features the interior pack ‘Trophy’. The heated sport seats are covered in fine leather. Instead of anodized red, satin chrome has been used for air-vent inserts. Renaultsport Monitor is the on-board telemetry system and is optional.
