Ford has revealed 2016 Taurus at an event held in Shanghai, before the car was supposed to make its debut at 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. The front shows a hexagonal radiator grille accompanied by LED headlights having swept back look. The grille looks shield-like and has five bars. The headlamps feature LED projector lamp as well as daytime running light technology. Looks of the supplemental driving lights have been enhanced by using chrome rings for the housing.
Polished 10-spoke 19-inch wheels make the car stand out in the crowd as they give the car a premium and bold stance. Yet another distinctive feature is the LED taillights. These taillights have been designed to be of multi-piece layout. A dazzling chrome bar is present between the taillights and therefore emphasizes the width of the vehicle. Chrome exhaust tips are present too for enhancing the looks of the car’s rear. Solid built of Taurus is evident from the powerfully sculpted hood. The exterior looks elevated with the effects that the engineers have incorporated – for example sides of the body having fine details and highlight trim with upswept look of the doors.
The cabin gives a feeling if harmony and balance as it uses horizontal elements and smart design. Occupants can have the pleasure of natural light – thanks to the full panoramic sunroof. The airy feel is increased all the more as the cabin is very spacious, as it makes best sue of 5-meter length of the car. The wheelbase of 2.95 meter allows for ample legroom, hip and shoulder room for the second row occupants. To ensure that passengers have enough headroom, the engineers designed the panoramic sunroof in such a manner that the roof’s front panel slides back towards the rear of the car, rather than underside. Greater than 25 stowage spaces have been provided in the cabin. Cup holders have been designed intelligently for holding tea bottles of different sizes.
The rear seats are power-reclining. They have massage function and adjustable lumbar support as optional features. The cushion of the rear seat can be folded down to reveal a control panel used for air conditioning, car media and seat functions. Folding up the cushion provides accommodation enough for three people. The layout for the rear seats is 40/20/40. The materials that the car makers have utilized give exceptional comfort. The surfaces too are covered in durable and soft materials, like fine quality leather on the seats. The cabin becomes even more elegant with the wood elements and chrome finishes. Ford has used sound-deadening materials to make the cabin very peaceful. No matter front or the rear seats, the brilliant engineering of the Ford engineers has made possible a very enjoyable and smooth ride for all the occupants.
