After releasing a bunch of previews, Mercedes-Benz has finally unveiled Concept GLC Coupe. The car is supposed to make its debut at Auto Shanghai 2015 held in China tomorrow. It is based on second generation of GLK that would be named GLC now. The looks of the car tell that it would be somewhat be like the miniature form of GLE Coupe. The length of this latest Mercedes-Benz masterpiece is 4.73 meters. The wheelbase if 2.83 meters and bold looks are guaranteed by the 21-inch alloy wheels.
More prominent features are the full LED headlights. Moreover, the car’s solar-beam paint is accompanied by cladding made of matte gun metal plastic – both of which give the car a rugged avatar. The roofline is sloping and the recessed handles for the door give the car a sleek look. As for the rear, the smart engineering continues with the stainless steel stacked quad exhaust pipes. LED technology has been used on the taillights as well, just the same as GLE Coupe. A striking feature is the night design for LED. The strips used have been adapted from the car’s headlamps. These strips house the turn indicators that make use of chasing lights for signaling a change in direction. The rear is made distinctive looking with the circular shape of the light. The circle encloses one central lens which adaptively increases the intensity of brake lamp. This feature enhances visibility.
Concept GLC Coupe flaunts an excellent powertrain as well. It is armed with direct-injection bi-turbo V6 3.0-liter engine that churns out 367 PS power at 5,500 rpm. While the torque output of 520 Nm is obtained in the range 1,400 rpm to 4,000 rpm. The motor comes with 9-speed automatic transmission that channels power to the all-wheel drive 4MATIC. The car performs very well, at the same time giving out an impressive sound that is the evidence of the engine’s power.
