Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc. presented 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander at 2015 New York International Auto Show. With this new launch, the company has revealed its novel design language. The most prominent feature in the front fascia is Dynamic Shield. This new design draws inspiration from the side protection for bumper in the generations of Montero. As a result of the fresh looks, the front of the car is the very definition of aggressiveness. The car makers have restyled whole lot of features – headlights, lower door sections, front fenders, LED taillights, rear end as well as 18-inch alloy wheels. Both front and rear bumpers are adorned in chrome accents. Both the bumpers are color-keyed. The door handles too are color-keyed.

Top-of-the-line model of Outlander GT brings with it power-folding feature for the side mirrors. Heating feature too has been provided on the exterior mirrors. LED headlights and windshield wiper de-icer have been included too. The headlights are auto-off halogen and LED position lights have been featured as well. The wheel arch mouldings further add to the smart looks of the car.

Instances of brilliant engineering are visible throughout the car. In the chassis, Mitsubishi has enhanced the structural rigidity for the suspension and body. The suspension has undergone redesigning and another facility is Electric Power Steering. The glass of the rear doors and glass of windshield have been crafted from noise-isolating material. Arrangements for further reduction in sound have been made with the use of additional sound insulation all across the vehicle. The rear differential dampers and front suspension have been revised. Mitsubishi has enhanced the weather stripping as well as engine compartment trim for all the models. Efficient performance is taken care of by continuously-variable transmission of new generation. This enhancement makes possible better – acceleration, torque delivery, performance and shift feel.

The steering wheel has been restyled. Mitsubishi is presenting a new feature Multi Communication System having audio system and navigation. Also, accent trim is present for the dashboard and doors. The headliner and seating surfaces have been enhanced. The rearview mirror features auto-dimming that comes with the Homelink®- present in GT model. The car makers have modified the design of the rear seat that is foldable. The new design enables more convenient operation while folding and unfolding the seat.

The interior is blessed with a rage of standard features. The 140-watt CD/ FM/MP3/AM audio system is a truly dynamic one with 6 loudspeakers. Other than the telescopic and tilt steering wheel, the car comes with leather for the steering wheel and for the the shift knob. Convenience of customers is ensured with the Hands-Free Link System FUSE and USB ports are present. The car has been given power door locks. Power windows can be opened and closed smoothly with the drivers’ light touch. Yet more features are ECO mode switch and automatic climate control. Additional functionality is provided by the LCD full-color multi-information display. Remote keyless entry is accompanied by panic feature. The cruise and audio controls are mounted on the steering wheel. The appearance of shifter is enhanced – it features gloss black and silver accent makes it even more elegant. The cabin has two power outlets of 12 volts.

Mitsubishi impresses when it comes to safety too. The air bag system has seven air bags – knee air bag for the driver, air bags for the front, side-impact air bags mounted on the front seats and curtain side air bags for the occupants of first and second row. Further safety is ensured by – Hill Start Assist, Anti-theft security alarm, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution by Mitsubishi and Engine immobilizer anti-theft system.
