In order to improve their presence in the overseas market, Japanese auto maker Honda established their luxury division ‘Acura’ in 1986. ‘Acura’ branded cars are sold in North American markets for more than two decades now. One of the latest models from Acura is the ‘RLX’ full sized sedan. In 2013, a Sport Hybrid version was also launched. Now Honda is launching the car in the Japanese domestic market as the ‘Legend’ sedan for the 2015 model year. Honda will make the Japanese-spec version available from 22th January. Apart from a different badging and new steering wheel, the ‘Legend’ and the ‘Acura’ are almost identical. Prices have also been announced.
However, Honda is putting the same engine for drawing power, 3.5 liter V6 engine that works with a total of three electric motors (one front/ two rear), a lithium-ion battery (260 volt) and 7-speed DCT. Honda has named the driving system ‘Super Handling AWD’. The total output from the engine is 382 HP of power and torque of 461 Nm.
